Great First AEG/AEB

I got my Zius BK1s about two months ago and I've been testing it regularly, and by and large it's an impressive blaster. It shoots hard, is very accurate - even more so with a BCAR, and it is very user friendly. It does have a slight learning curve though; and I have a few potential issues I wanted to point out. The magazines - as you probably know - are proprietary. This presents an issue when you need to borrow some ammo from your teammates during a war, though the magazines themselves are functional and high quality. The method for switching between semi-auto and burst is a bit unintuitive, as it requires you to either fire darts onto the ground first, or you have to dry fire. If this blaster has an Achilles' heel though, it would be dart compatibility. With the brand-new Zius darts included with the blaster, this is basically a nonexistent issue. But during a war I went to, I was having constant issues with darts not firing properly (getting stuck in the barrel, spiraling, bad performance, getting stuck halfway between the barrel and the magazine, etc.) I've managed to track this down to one or two things: return spring tension in the pusher being too light, or dart foam being too soft. It appears superficially that its primarily a dart issue and not a blaster issue, so I'm giving the BK1s the benefit of the doubt on this one. I would like to know if there's a way to get better reliability out of the blaster with all the kinds darts you may have to work with at a war though. If it is the pusher return spring tension though, you can always just push the charging handle the rest of the way forward to solve the problem. Speaking of the charging handle, that is one of the most brilliant parts of the blaster. Not only is it super fun to use, but it also makes clearing jams and restoring the blaster to an operational state a breeze. Remember how I mentioned darts sometimes getting stuck in the barrel? All you have to do to solve this is to pull back the charging handle and push the darts back into the magwell with a stick or rod until they fall out (or alternatively you could try to blow them out, but that's probably not super wise lol.) You may have heard about how you can cut the spring post to get more darts in the magazines. I've tried this, but I get consistently worse performance with all dart types when I load more than 12 darts. Apparently, this is due to uneven or variable spring tension, so I would recommend you make or buy a proper magazine extender if you want more capacity. All in all, I'm super happy to have the BK1s as my first AEG in my collection. It's got an awesome aesthetic and it's super fun to use! I'd recommend it to anybody. Just make sure you do your research before purchasing to make sure this is what you need. This won't be outsniping a Worker Harrier or spraying foam like a Nerf Rival Perses, but it's a modest compromise between speed, power, and precision for all your multi-purpose needs.

Bk1s

Got two of these and I'm glad I did. My son loves his and I think they are a nice addition to the collection. They shoot well and look great. I had a slight issue with another item from this order, but Luke and his team made every effort to remedy things. They are truly wonderful people and have earned my business.

Hi Judson,

We're sorry for the issues with the blaster. We'd be happy to replace the blaster, and we would never make you pay shipping for a defect or malfunctioning unit.

Nerf rival Perses hopper

Solid construction, sleek design I own 2 and they’re great
Only thing I have to add is the lid. If it would open full way would make reloading easier

Great AED

Fires beautifully. Definitely more accurate than a flywheel and can rival a good springer! This blaster is engineered to easily clear jams and a newcomer was able operate this with no problems!
