This spring got me 240+fps but at the cost of an INSANELY stiff prime. Completely unusable in a real world scenario. Recommend a prime assist if you want to try this beast. Also noticed a small bit of slack at rest which requires you to manually close the slide.
While it should go without saying, when upgrading any stock blaster from its stock spring to anything with a heavier gauge wire it is going to require more energy to prime the blaster. And yes priming this with the heavier spring does make it more difficult, but to get an additional 60fps and hit up over 200fps, totally worth it.
Luke and the OOD team always put these springs through their paces before they put them on the site for sale, I would trust no one more then OOD springs with any of my modded blasters.
I picked up the 203 FPS spring for my Fury-X. That blaster has a lot of screws, and I probably didn't have to take the whole thing apart just to replace the spring. If you can, see if you can just unscrew whatever's holding the orange front plate instead of doing what I did. Remove that front plate only, remove the original spring, and slide the new spring in. I think that's all you need to do. Maybe.
I'm definitely happy with the performance with the new spring. It's hitting right around 205 FPS (or about 190 with a Dart Zone SCAR) pretty consistently. I highly recommend that you attach a grip of some kind to the picatilly bar on the priming slide, since the priming action is significantly stiffer with the upgraded spring.
For a total cost of about $20 in upgrades, it a nice little powerhouse.
after a mag of shooting my hand hurts from the prime and the fps numbers are inconsistent all the way from 175 to 210 fps
We're sorry you've had a poor experience with the spring. Upgrade springs will certainly have heavier priming weight. This is unavoidable when upgrading a heavier spring.
put it in my fury and it runs really good better than my cut k25
