Eli Wu Neutron Compact High-Rate-of-Fire Solenoid

The Eli Wu Neutron Solenoid is a custom-designed compact, high-rate-of-fire electromagnetic pusher exclusive to Out of Darts. Featuring stranded copper coils in an anodized aluminum chassis and an 87 mm core with a 26 mm stroke length, Eli Wu designed this compact solenoid for high reliability and maximum performance. In standard electromechanical circuits, this solenoid can achieve up to 18 rounds per second. However, with a Zener and flyback diode and an upgraded return spring, the Neutron really shines, delivering up to 40 darts per second!

Since its release alongside Momentum, many other designers have adopted the Neutron as the short dart solenoid pusher of choice for 3D-printed flywheel-powered blasters, including micro-wheelers like the Blitz, full-size modular flywheelers like the Protean, and many more in between.

Eli has used a DC-DC boost converter designed for 25A burst, and ~10A averaged. An H-bridge works, but the Zener method is just significantly cheaper/easier to design.
