I've made a lot of recent purchases since my son entered the world of quality foam dart guns. We have a Lynx, Harrier, multiple Hamsters etc. My son who is flying to see his grandparents this weekend for the holidays wanted his grandpa to have a blaster too and because I have a 3D printer and we have a great time with the Lynx, he suggested the Dan Pistol.
I ultimately have no idea how good the gun is because at the time of this writing there are no instructions for assembly. The 3d parts file has multiple duplicates and so once I opened up the bag of hardware with all the 3d printed pieces, it was ultimately on me to figure out what was needed vs what wasn't.
When I reached out to Out of Darts for instructions, I was politely told there is none for the beta and they'll provide information once the gun is out of beta next year.
So basically what I have is a half finished product, some frustration, lots of wasted filament and hesitancy to spend on any future kits from OOD.
I understand that it's completely possible I missed the fine print but I'm also not sure if that fine print was there before I asked the store about it. I'll give OOD the benefit of the doubt here and say it's on me to have read more carefully but that brings me to gist of this review.
If you're selling a kit, whether it's beta or not - provide instructions. Would you buy a lego box with a picture of a castle then be okay opening that box and realizing there is no way to make the castle? I had to find pictures of completed guns online just to see how the exterior *should* look and I have no idea where a handful of the last pieces go.
I honestly feel slighted. If I ran the store and sold this product, I would at least have some cell phone pics and a few sentences written for those who don't put together 3d printed guns as their full time job.
Anyways. Due to the lack of time before now and the weekend, grandpa's asked out and I'll be making it up for my son on Amazon.
Hi Arthur,
Thanks for this feedback. I think you may have left this on the incorrect product. We do mention on the Danpistol Beta that there's no support or guide at this time. We'd highly recommend checkout out a non-beta release, as this one definitely still has some kinks.
We'd be happy to credit you towards another non-beta kit.
It's a good magazine. I find though it says 15, invariably the first two will shoot out at the same time if I do load that many. Otherwise it does what it says on the tin, and is pretty reliable.
These dragon claw mags worked perfect in my harrier and my nexus pro x/aeon pro x without any issues. Love the curvature since it tells you quickly what direction the darts go in without even thinking about it. Would highly recommend!
Wowzers! I love mags! I love magazines and these ones especially are easy to read! they are easy to use and are ready straight out the box! 5/5 would reccomend!
Good
