The Ultimate Foam-Flingers Holiday Gift Guide 2024

Whether you’re looking for the perfect gift for the nerf modding hobbyist who has everything or you want to get a friend to try blaster tag themselves, it can be hard to know what to get them without a little guidance. While you can always email us for shopping recommendations and support, we thought this year we might have the bandwidth to publish our own Holiday gift guide.

Gifting GOATs

Worker Seagull

You can’t really go wrong with this choice! The Seagull is a future-proof, rugged competition-grade springer and our most popular blaster ever. It has a performance range that sits perfectly between super-stock and ultra-stock levels, and it can even be tuned down to HvZ caps in a pinch. What few issues you might have with it can be fixed with mods and accessories. We recommend RedCowl’s bearing-assisted priming block kit, which makes the prime feel even smoother.

Adventure Force Maxim Pro

Not fond of springers? The Adventure Force Maxim Pro has quickly become a hobby favorite flywheeler, hitting 160 FPS out of the box with LiPo compatibility and more great surprises. And all for $40! While it’s got a bit of a bubbly, chunky aesthetic, it makes up for in gobs of space to pack in whatever you want out of a primary-class flywheeler. If you’re looking for modding recommendations, look no further than our mod kit with a neutron solenoid pusher. With that and a two-stage trigger, nothing could be more satisfying!

Our Favorite New Releases

Dart Zone Max Stryker 2.0

Some might be surprised to see the Stryker 2.0 over the Nexus Pro X. Both are worthy contenders for this year’s best new springer. They both offer great price-per-performance value, both are available on store shelves at big-box retailers, and both are compatible with a wide variety of mods and accessories. However, the improved compatibility with Talon and talon-oid mags simply cannot be overstated, and being able to scavenge in HvZ with an open drum cylinder is a neat feature to make up for its lack of a second mag.

Dart Zone Max Venom Pro

If the amount of content and mods we made for the Adventure Force Maxim Pro didn’t say so loudly enough, we might be slightly biased regarding this year’s flywheeler releases. But the Venom Pro is no slouch. It offers tremendous value out of the box, including two mags and a Li-Ion battery, and we will be exploring more mods for it in the near future.

DIY Blasters

Silly's SLAB

This is another classic best-selling blaster. From the satisfying lever action to the unique moving magwell, what’s not to love? The lever action is satisfying, it’s a joy to build, and you get quite a lot of power through its turnaround plunger tube.

OOD Juno

The venerable OOD Jupiter was in need of an overhaul, so we updated it to our current production standards and made the files available for people to print the 3D parts themselves! The Juno is easy to build as well, making it a perfect STEM project to teach kids soldering and electronics basics. Don’t forget to stock up on plenty of ammo!

Stocking Stuffers

Dart Zone Max Solo

I mean, how could we not? This blaster came out in 2023 but didn’t really reach many people’s hands until earlier this year. It’s a powerful, deployable, breech-loading single-shot blaster. And with some mods, it also makes for quite the compact and versatile package! Check out Luchathor's Mag-fed Solo Mod Kit on our shop!

X-Shot Micro 2.0

X-Shot is known for cute, gimmicky, single-shot blasters, but this year, they’ve revamped their original Micro with some improvements in ergonomics and aesthetics. Poor Domochevsky has to re-do all of his 3D-printed reshells of the Micro’s plunger tube core, but in the meantime, this tiny little blaster is perfect for young people or the young at heart.

Little Rocket Platform

We're definitely biased when we suggest these, but the modularity of the little rocket barrels make for some great fun. And since most family members are rail-mountable, they pair excellently with existing loadouts to allow you a backup at your next game

Honorable Mentions

Worker Kunlun

The Kunlun one didn’t quite make the list only because it’s so new. But you best believe it has become the bolt-action springer to beat in the short time we’ve had our hands on it. Check out our latest YouTube video all about it!

Hare Tech Diana

You might have thought we forgot about this tiny brushless pistol! The Diana is a marvel of flywheeler engineering, with high-end circuitry and materials throughout. It may not have won our recommendation against more budget-friendly brushed flywheeler offerings, but it’s still an incredible premium gift option for the blaster enthusiast who has it all!

Zius BK1s

While they don’t really fit neatly into the categories I outlined here in this article, the BKs series of AEBs at least deserve an honorable mention. They are the closest we’ve come to a reliable super-stock AEB, and I’m looking forward to seeing Zius’ future offerings in this new space.

Even with a list as thorough as this one, there’s always one person you still don’t know what to get them. On that occasion, there’s no shame in giving gift cards. Additionally, our gift cards come with complementary shopping advice in case they don’t know what they want to get either! - JPH
